Ways you can join the conversation

Help us make the Private Garden a great place to be by always adding something positive to the discussion, however small. Need some time to figure out what to say? Take your time, think over your post and you can always save in your drafts.

One way to improve the discussion is by discovering ones that are already happening. Think about browsing the topics before replying or starting your own. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them.

Things not to do

We’re a no hate, no threats, no harm platform. Trolling and rude behavior will be actioned accordingly.

Please avoid:

• Name-calling
• Ad hominem attacks
• Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
• Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide thoughtful insights that improve the conversation.

Your account login and credentials are yours, and not meant to be shared.

While you don’t have to use your real name and can get creative with your username or handle, this community is all about authenticity, so impersonation of a specific person or organization isn’t allowed. Please don’t engage in posting spam, sharing inappropriate material, soliciting surveys or polls, harassment or encouraging negative behavior on other platforms, or linking to fundraising pages. While you’re welcome to share your thoughts on multitudes of topics on a variety of social media platforms, posts that violate policies may be removed at our team’s discretion.

Scraping or misusing data or content from within the community is against our terms.

Your Participation Counts

The conversations we have here set the tone for every new arrival. Help us by creating, connecting, and inspiring each other.

Use the conversation tools to highlight or action content, such as likes, flags, replies, edits, watching, and muting. You can use these tools to improve your own experience, and everyone else’s, too.

With your help, the team can keep the conversations and community here positive.
When you see bad behavior, don’t reply to it, but please click “FLAG” to bring it to the team’s attention. If enough flags build up, action will be taken, either automatically or by moderator intervention.

In order to maintain our community, Private Garden reserves the right to remove any content and any user account for any reason at any time. Staff take no responsibility for any content posted by the community.

Keep It Kind

Nothing sabotages a healthy conversation like rudeness:

• Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.
• Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.
• Respect each other. Don’t harass anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
• Respect the space. Don’t post spam or otherwise vandalize community discussions.

These are not concrete terms with precise definitions —please be mindful to avoid even the appearance of any of these things.

While spaces may be gated for members, search engines can potentially index these discussions so keep that in mind with the language, links, and images you share.

Legal Stuff

You may not post anything digital that belongs to someone else without permission. You may not post descriptions of, links to, or methods for stealing someone’s intellectual property (software, video, audio, images), or for breaking any other law.
